b.glen(Cosmetics)

I've been using b.glen 's skin care kit for a month.
Although I don't feel drastic change on my skin yet, seems like it's getting better.

I used to use Japanese brand's cosmetics before I came to the US and I found the same one at a department store in NYC.But I got tired of going to the city only for purchasing cosmetics since I live in the suburbs of NY.

I've tried L'OCCITANE and Kiehl's because I can get them easily as they have a lot of stores not only in the NY City. I preferred L'OCCITANE.The fragrance of flowers was so good.
But I am still looking for good ones for me .

My standards are "Not too expensive" and "Easy to purchase"and of course "Good for skin".
Then I found b.glen on site. The reputation on site seems very nice.(Though somebody might be writing just for advertising.)
It's a little bit expensive for me but I can get them on line and their customer service is good, too.
I'm gonna keep using this kit for a bit longer.

Walking in Nolita

I walked around Nolita in the city .
Nolita is the small area located in the east of SOHO.This area is a little more quiet than SOHO and there are new designer's shops and pretty cafes.
I enjoyed window shopping a lot!

Afterall I didn't get anything, but I got inspiration from the people crossing the streets.

I stopped by "Tory Burch".
As you know,it is the very famous brand in NY.
I am not familiar with fashion, but I like Tory Burch's shoes.
Gorgeous and elegant.

Also I found a cute shop"Variazioni"(23 Prince St,between Elizabeth St & Mott St).They have fashionable and not so expensive clothes.

Personally I love UrbanOutfitters.

Farewell Party

One of my Japanese friend families is moving back to Japan next month.
Today we had their farewell party at our house.
We have shared so much time together ,like going travel, hanging out for dinner...etc
I know I will see them again in Japan a few years later, but still I am gonna miss them now.
We drank a dozen of wines and all of us got drunk so much.

We are supposed to stay in NY for 2or 3more years. But I hear Japanese overseas workers like us tend to return to Japan earlier than expected. It could be because the US economy is getting worse...
So who knows? I can't waste a time any single day. There are still so many places left where I wanna go while I am staying in NY ;Operas ,Jazz,Broadway shows....However it is hard for me to go out at night since I have a little child. How disappointing!

To be honest,I wasn't used to be this kind of an active person when I was in Japan.
I was born and grew up in Tokyo but I have been to Tokyo Tower only once when I was very little. There are so many popular sightseeing spots in Tokyo where I have never been to.But I don't care much about it.
Probably NY City has made me active.

Utada Hikaru

I've watched Utada Hikaru 's live performance on "Early Show" this morning. (Mar28th)
She sang "Come Back To Me" and "Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence"on live.
I was so impressed with it,though I got a little upset because the last part of "Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence"was interrupted in spite of the live performance.
And also it was a shame she had only a few comments on the show.
I expected kind of interview or more talks.
Maybe I expected too much? She might be nothing but a new artist in the US yet despite she is such a big star in Japan.
But still,I am so proud of her as a Japanese.I think it is a big deal!
I don't think any other Japanese pop artist could make this. I feel like she deserves to be an international popular artist.

Also Utada Hikaru showed up at SEPHORA in NY on Mar25th.
As soon as I got this information from my friend ,I applied for this talk show. But it was too late, the space was already full.
It is good start for her ,though.
I love her songs ,especially old songs such as "First Love" , "Automatic".
I hope her big success in the US!!!

Mamma Mia!

My 4-year-old daughter is crazy about "Mamma Mia".
A couple weeks ago,I found discounted tickets on line and I took her to the Broadway show"Mamma Mia" .
I was worried about her as the show might have been too long for her.
But she loved it!

She was very quiet and was concentrated on the show.

Now She keeps listening and singing ABBA all day long.I got tired of ABBA .
Her favorite song is " Dancing Queen".She is singing proudly,
" Dancing Queen ,Young and sweet Only seventeen..."
She is only 4years old.
So funny!!!!!

Most kids start the Broadway show from "The little mermaid" or "The Lion King".
But somehow my daughter's first show was "Mamma Mia"!

Now I am planning to take her to "The Lion King"next.
However, I can't find discounted tickets.Besides we have to wait till Jun or July if we want to get Orchestra seats.
It is still very popular musical!

Central Park

The weather is getting nicer in NY these days. I took my daughter to the Central Park for a walk. She was so excited with the horses inside the park.

She said to me,"Mommy, Actually these horses are mice, aren't they?"
At first,I didn't understand what she was talking about. But suddenly I got it.
She meant the Cinderella's story. The mice turned into horses by the magic.
She always asks me a riddle without notice.

When we reached the pond in the park,She found a man feeding ducks .
She walked closer to him and was watching the ducks. A few minutes later ,she noticed a sign beside her.
" Mommy, what is this saying?" She asked me.
It was saying ,"DON'T FEED BIRDS AND WILD ANIMALS".

I had to say this behind the man who was just feeding ducks.
I felt embarrassed with it.
If I had more courage ,I might have told him not to feed them.
But as I was a coward , we just passed by him quickly....

Sometimes kids are perceptive.

A Drop of God

Hello! I started my blog. Hooray!!
I have been living in NY for about 2years.However ,my English is not improving well as a I expected.
So I made up my mind to keep my diary in English. I hope this blog will help my English improvement.
I am reading Japanese comic book :"Kami no shizuku (A Drop of God)" -I am not sure this translation is correct.
This is the hot comic book in Japan now.
The story is about wines .A young guy (Shizuku) ,who works for a beer company , hated wines before his father passed away. His father was a well- known wine spectator all over the world. He left huge properties including his wine collections.
Shizuku was supposed to inherit all the properties since he was the only child .However, his father adapted a young wine commentator as a son just before he died.Shizuku got a shock with the fact. Also his father left 12 riddles about wines.
The one who solved these riddles and found the correct wines could succeed all of his properties.
Shizuku tries to compete him.

We can get many knowledge about wines from this comic book!!
Check it out if you get a chance!
