Outdoor Movie

My daughter and I went to the outdoor movie with my friend for the first time.I've never taken her to a movie theater yet ,but the outdoor movie seemed fun for kids and it was free.we can leave whenever the kids get bored or tired.
Besides the movie was "Madagascar2",which was my daughter's favorite.

We arrived at the big field around 6:30pm.I saw the huge screen in front of us.

I was excited with the giant screen, "This is very American!!"
Most nice spots were already taken.However, we could find a spot.

We had supper together on the picnic sheet and the kids were playing on the grass until the movie started.

It was a little hard for little kids as we had to wait for getting dark until 9pm.

Finally the movie"Madagascar"started!

It was so much fun to watch the movie on such a huge screen.
But it was a shame that we had to leave in the middle of the movie as it was chilly outside in spite of July.

Hiromi @Blue note

I was waiting so long for Hiromi Uehara 's show at Blue note.Finally I made it!

I thought most guests might be Japanese.But it was not.The space was full of people!

Then I figured out Hiromi is popular among New Yorkers.

I was very lucky as my seat was just in front of Hiromi.My first impression of her was that she seemed a happy young lady ...I mean,her smile was so sweet that I could hardly imagine she had such a strong passion inside.

Once the show began,she was like a different person.Sometimes she was playing the piano with a big smile and sometimes she almost hit the piano .

I have never seen anybody who plays the jazz piano so happily.

It was like she was in her own music world. I couldn't see her fingers as they were moving so fast.I felt she is a born pianist.

I've heard her CD many times,but the live show was very different atmosphere.I was very

happy to feel her feeling and passion directly

Per Se

A couple weeks ago,I had dinner at a fancy restaurant Per Se with my husband for my birthday.
It was one of the most famous restaurants in NYC.
It's located at Time Warner Building and we could see fresh green trees of the Central Park from the restaurant.

We have rarely gone out for dinner just two of us after we had a child.
I felt a little strange as my daughter wasn't there with us.

First of all ,I was so impressed with the menu printed my name on it.
It was like the special menu for me.....Though,Of course not.
All the dishes tasted excellent and dished up wonderfully.
I had a great birthday dinner.

Beyonce's Concert

It has been taken so long since I posted the last article.I was just lazy...

On June 22nd,I went to Beyonce's concert at Madison Square Garden.

It was so exciting!! Beyonce was the most gorgeous lady I have ever seen.

I could hardly believe that such a beautiful lady exists as a real .

And her stage was amazing!!
Full of entertainment.

I really had a great time.

One thing I learned about the concert in NY, the big stars show up more than one hour after the opening time. I waite so long.....

Japan Day

It has been taking so long to write a new post.

The end of school year is somehow very busy... it might be just an excuse.

On May 31st, we joined the Japan Day event at the central park.

My husband joined 4mile race and my daughter joined the kids race for the first time.

In Japan, almost every school has an athletic meet.So parents are used to see the kids footraces .However,my daughter's nursery doesn't have an athletic meet and I have never heard of school which have it.

When she was in the daycare in Japan,she joined a footrace.She was 2years old at that time and she cried and cried...

So I was so excited with my daughter's run this time.

It was very short race but I enjoyed watching her running.She got 3rd prize.

After that we played "Yo-yo fishing " and face painting.

The event place was crowded around lunch time.

I wanted to eat "Gyu-don".But I gave up as so many people were waiting in line..

The event seemed a great success.

Trapp Family Lodge Ⅱ

On Sunday it was raining in the morning.So we woke up late and had breakfast at the bakery near the lodge.This bakery bakes breads for the restaurant in the hotel,too.

There were various kind of danishes there and all the breads we ordered were so good.

Their apple strudel seems very popular and actually it was delicious.It's highly recommended.

In the afternoon, it stopped raining and the sun came out.We went hiking in the woods.

The fresh green leaves after rain was very beautiful and we felt so relaxed in the fresh air.

My daughter enjoyed walking along the trail with finding frogs,butterflies.It was really good for kids ,too.

It was a shame that my daughter couldn't try a pony ride because the pony was sick on that day.

But she looked satisfied with watching cows instead.

We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel.Although it looked a little fancy restaurant ,they had kids menu,too.

We ordered ram and pork.It was very big....but tasted wonderful!!

Despite of long drive,I think it's worth it.

Hopefully we want to visit this place again in autumn.

Trapp Family Lodge Ⅰ

On Memorial Holidays we went to Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont.
This lodge is owned by the Trapp family who are famous for "Sound of Music".They moved in the US from Austria and found their new home in Vermont as the beautiful mountains in Vermont was similar to their home in Austria.

We left home early in the morning and it took about 5.5 hours by driving.It was not too bad.

we stopped by the Ben & Jenny ice cream factory near the lodge,where we joined the mini tour which included the history film ,watching inside the factory and tasting a cup of ice cream.

Actually it was a little chilly day ,not good day to eat ice cream. But still,their fresh ice cream was delicious.

We arrived the lodge around 1pm.We had lunch at the lounge in the lodge.

Inside the lodge,their European taste interior was nice and cozy.

After lunch ,we swam in the indoor swimming pool.My daughter was so excited with the pool.

They also have fitness,SPA and sauna for adults.We spent a time for relaxing.

Get along with girls...

There are so many things to think about my daughter's school these days. She is going to be 5 in July,I know she is still very young ,but I was surprised that the girls already tend to make small groups and want to play only with the members of the group.

My daughter is a kind of person who is enjoying herself and she has no idea which group she should belong to. As the matter of the fact, the girls don't play with her ,she always plays with boys.

And she told me that she can't understand what the girls are talking and the girls don't understand what she said.

It seems like hard for her to play with talking since she has been leaning English for less than 2 years.I feel sorry for her.

In our area ,there are very few non native English speakers .That is not easy for her.Almost nobody understands why she doesn't speak English well.

It is really hard... I keep watching her and will try to find out a solution.

However ,a good thing is that she loves play with boys ,and the boys like play with her.Boys don't need to talk a lot while they are playing,they are just running around,kicking a ball or sometimes fighting....very simple.

We went to her boy friend's house and they played in a swimming pool and a sprinkler.

They had so much fun .I was wondering why she has to play with girls.If it is easy for her to play with boys ,I think it is OK!
